The Consultation Intensive
This 5-Day, 40-hour immersive intensive counts towards the 40-hours of Consultation necessary for an NM(C)F-IT to complete their consultation hours necessary for applying for full licensure.
August 5-9, 2026 | $2550
What To Expect
This 5-day intensive is designed for natural medicine facilitators (in-training) who want to complete their 40 consultation hours of consultation towards their full Natural Medicine license in a grounded, relational, and experiential way.
Rather than spreading consultation out over many months, this format brings learners together for an immersive week of practice, reflection, community, and real-time learning.
Participants will move through the work as facilitators, journeyers, observers, and colleagues, building both confidence and connection along the way.
This is a condensed intensive, but it does not lose any of the quality of the consultation experience.
The intensive is rooted in the realities of facilitation: how to prepare well, how to hold a non-directive container, how to navigate complexity, how to stay connected to ethics and boundaries, and how to care for yourself while caring for others.
In this intensive, participants will facilitate in Dyads on days 1 and 2. Day 3 will be focused on integration, as well as having leaders in the psychedelic field lecturing on different areas that facilitators can get more involved in the psychedelic arena.
Day 4 is the opportunity for facilitators to practice running a group for real participants through Althea’s program, Althea’s Pick.
Day 5 will offer continued networking with leaders in the field, as well as integration activities.
Why We Created This Intensive
The consultation requirement of Natural Medicine Licensure is a sacred part of the work.
For many facilitators, it is the space where the work becomes real. It is where questions become more nuanced, where confidence begins to settle into the body, and where learners begin to understand their own style, edges, gifts, and responsibilities.
We created this intensive to give facilitators a place to learn in community. We wanted to create a place where facilitation is not just talked about, but rather learned through practicing, witnessing, integrating, and being in relationship with the medicine and with one another.
This week is meant to support:
Greater confidence in facilitation
Deeper familiarity with regulated procedures
More comfort with preparation and integration
Clearer understanding of ethical and relational boundaries
Stronger connection to the facilitator community, leaders in the psychedelic field.
A more embodied relationship with non-ordinary states of consciousness
Increased capacity to hold complexity, uncertainty, and emergence
DORA Competency Areas Covered
Throughout the intensive, we will engage all six DORA competency areas:
Non-Directive Approach
Relational Boundaries and Use of Touch
Cultural Competency
Non-Ordinary States of Consciousness
Facilitator Self-Care
Ethical Issues
These areas will be explored through teaching, discussion, experiential practice, integration, peer reflection, and live facilitation contexts.
“This is where facilitators become more than trained -
they become rooted.”
