Practicum with NeuroAlchemy
Program Overview
The Psilocybin Facilitator Practicum at NeuroAlchemy is designed to immerse trainees in the lived rhythms of facilitation—observing, practicing, and integrating core skills within both real and simulated clinical environments, in alignment with DORA licensing requirements.
Our aim is to cultivate true competence: the steady confidence, clinical discernment, and relational presence required to guide clients safely through psilocybin experiences. Trainees learn not only what to do, but how to remain grounded, attuned, and ethically anchored throughout the session arc.
Through this practicum, students deepen their understanding of the facilitation process, develop the capacity to navigate a wide spectrum of client presentations, and refine the professional posture needed to hold a therapeutic container with skill, humility, and care—especially within the liminal space where meaningful change begins to take shape.
NeuroAlchemy 5-Day Experiential Psilocybin Practicum
Join us for a deeply immersive 5-day experiential practicum in Littleton, CO, designed to bring the principles of classical psychedelic work into lived experience. This training integrates evidence-informed practice, innovative dosing formats, and hands-on facilitation to help students develop the embodied skills required in both real and simulated clinical settings.
Within an intimate cohort of approximately 12 participants, you will rotate between the roles of facilitator and participant. This dual perspective fosters meaningful personal insight while strengthening your capacity to guide others with clinical clarity, relational presence, and grounded attunement in the liminal space.
This practicum is intentionally structured to support students in meeting Colorado’s Natural Medicine Facilitator practicum requirements while cultivating the confidence, professionalism, and ethical container necessary for safe and effective psychedelic care. Participants leave with a deeper sense of competence—and a clearer understanding of what it means to hold space responsibly, skillfully, and with respect for the profound processes we steward.
NeuroAlchemy Community Access Practicum
The Community Access Practicum embodies NeuroAlchemy’s commitment to safe, ethical, and skillful psychedelic service while expanding access to those in our community who might otherwise be unable to receive support. This pathway weaves training and service together, inviting learners to develop their facilitation skills while participating in a model rooted in equity, compassion, and responsible care.
Learners are paired with up to five participants who qualify for reduced-cost services through NeuroAlchemy’s Community Access Program. Under the close supervision of a Licensed Clinical Facilitator, learners provide direct client care while receiving ongoing guidance, reflection, and clinical oversight.
For each assigned participant, learners will engage in one preparation session, co-facilitate the administration session, and support a post-journey integration session. Each dyad includes approximately eight hours of direct client work, allowing learners to meet Colorado’s 30-hour administration requirement and complete the full 40-hour practicum experience.
This practicum offers trainees not only structured clinical practice, but also the opportunity to serve the broader community with integrity—learning what it means to hold a therapeutic container with presence, humility, and respect for the transformative processes that unfold.
Key Features of the Experiential Practicum
Hands-On Skill Development
Engage directly in both real-world and simulated clinical scenarios to practice the foundational skills of psilocybin facilitation.
Integrated Learning Roles
Rotate between facilitator, observer, and participant within a small 12-person cohort, allowing you to experience the therapeutic arc from multiple vantage points and deepen your understanding of the work.
Licensure-Aligned Training
Designed to support those pursuing Colorado facilitator licensure, while still welcoming individuals who wish to broaden their knowledge, sharpen their clinical instincts, or strengthen their personal relationship with this modality.
A Safe, Intentional Container
Participate in a carefully held environment oriented toward growth, psychological safety, and skillful practice. Facilitators may choose to engage with psilocybin themselves—optional but recommended for those planning to guide others and those seeking embodied insight into the medicine.
Consultation Pathway
Students working toward licensure may complete their 40-hour consultation requirement with their practicum supervisor at a discounted rate when booked upon enrollment, ensuring continuity of mentorship and clinical development.
NeuroAlchemy’s practicum is intentionally crafted to complement the 150-hour didactic education required for Natural Medicine Facilitator licensure in Colorado. For students who have completed their coursework and are ready to move into applied practice, our practicum offers a structured, supportive, and clinically grounded pathway to fulfill the 40-hour experiential requirement.
We collaborate with DORA-approved training programs across Colorado, Oregon, and Canada to ensure continuity between academic learning and hands-on facilitation. This partnership model helps students transition smoothly from theory into the lived practice of guiding psychedelic sessions with competence, humility, and care.
While many participants join us to complete licensure requirements, we also welcome individuals who are not pursuing certification but are seeking a deep, experiential training environment rooted in ethical practice and personal development. Non-licensure participants may enroll fully and will receive a NeuroAlchemy Practicum Certificate of Completion.
NeuroAlchemy is not a stand-alone licensed training program. A certificate of completion from our practicum, on its own, does not meet Colorado’s requirements for Natural Medicine Facilitator Licensure. Participants must complete didactic education through a DORA-approved program for eligibility.
Why Train with NeuroAlchemy?
Important Details
In-Person Participation
To meet Colorado’s Natural Medicine Facilitator licensing standards, students must be physically present for all required practicum components. Embodied learning is central to this work, and our in-person structure supports the relational, nuanced skills that cannot be cultivated through remote training.
Engaging with Psilocybin
At NeuroAlchemy, we believe facilitators are most effective when they have an informed, personal understanding of the terrain they are guiding others through. While psilocybin use is not required, we strongly encourage practicum participants to engage with the medicine within our safe, supportive, and thoughtfully held environment. This first-hand experience often becomes a foundational aspect of a facilitator’s clinical presence and ethical grounding.
Licensure Pathway Requirements
Colorado requires completion of 150 hours of didactic education prior to entering a practicum, followed by 40 hours of consultation and supervision afterward. Our practicum is designed to integrate seamlessly into this sequence and support you in meeting all experiential components of full-scope licensure.
Access Program Timeline
For students completing their practicum through our Community Access pathway, the timeline is dependent on participant scheduling and availability. Because we work with real clients at reduced cost, a fixed completion date cannot be guaranteed. We maintain close communication and guidance to help learners progress steadily and supported.
Training Outcomes
By engaging fully in this practicum, you will not only meet essential state licensing requirements—you will leave with the practical competence, professional grounding, and relational confidence required to facilitate psilocybin sessions safely, ethically, and with a deep respect for the transformative processes you will steward.

Mikki and Avi are two of the most genuine people I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with. To be a part of their practicum was an experience that can't really be put into words, it has to be experienced. The level of professionalism and care that was displayed in providing a safe and healing container is unmatched. I would recommend Mikki and Avi to everyone interested in exploring in this field. Thank you both for a life changing experience!

We entered the space as strangers and over five days became family. The authenticity, the vulnerability, the safety, and the competency shared was more than I ever expected to experience in professional development. The thoughtfulness that went into every aspect of this training event is unparalleled from my experiences in other disciplines. I am forever grateful and forever changed for having spent time in this space with Mikki, Cindi, Avi, Scott, and Ken. What important work and what a blessing to my whole practicum family. ❤️

Mikki and her team are a treasure for the psychedelic community. The container of acceptance, safety and support they provided for our practicum experience was beyond anything I’d hoped for. They are setting the standards for informed, ethical, and profound practice as our state moves us forward in this context. I am so thankful to have had the good fortune to embark from here on my own personal path to true healing and growth, and to know the people we work with as facilitators will have such a solid option for services.
